“An accomplished black belt athlete and professor with over 25 years of experience in the field of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Ricardo gained his 5th-degree black belt studying under professor Jorge Pina Barbosa in São Lourenço, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and has won over 80 medals throughout his career with his latest accomplishment winning 1st place in his division at the IBJJF New Haven International Open 2022.
In addition to that, he has won several medals in the Gaman Championship and Naga championships in his division and won second place in the open weight category at the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championships in 2014. He also won second place in his division at the Abu Dhabi World Pro Jiu-Jitsu back in 2015.
Ricardo also holds a brown belt in Judo although, his focus is dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Ricardo possesses extensive knowledge in training and managing large group classes while closely paying attention to each one of his student’s needs and goals. Whether it’s the desire to get fit, compete in the sport, or simply gain life-saving self-defense skills.
Ricardo’s keen attention to detail and patience in teaching and developing students have earned him the outstanding reputation he holds today while training tomorrow’s top Jiu-Jitsu practitioners.
